In 1851, Newbury came into existence with the introduction of the Great Western Railway. No other part of the county better symbolizes small town living with all the amenities of a big city, than this village. Located
where Concession Drive intersects Hagerty Road, it is home to the Four Counties Health Services facility. As an important player in the Middlesex Hospital Alliance, it promotes patient-driven, family-oriented health
care for Middlesex County and three adjoining counties. Due to a strong commitment to the community and its preservation, this family-routed village continues to grow and prosper. Although a village of less than
500 residents, it aptly sustains itself. The ample shopping offered exceeds the expectations and needs of both residents and visitors alike. It has three churches (two are more than 100 years old) and a historic village library. On the border of the village is an eco-wonder known as Skunk’s Misery. As a matter of pride, benches lining the main street are adorned with skunk caricatures. These benches offer visitors a place to sit and observe the day-to-day life of Newbury. It’s beautiful park has a baseball diamond, tennis courts, horseshoe pit and a large pavilion for family reunions or picnics. Nature lovers will be delighted by a visit to the county owned woodlot. It is just outside the village limits and has several marked walking trails. This community so small in population is one of the largest when it comes to heart. The many community events, local services and pride taken in all it has to offer, definitely make Newbury a place to visit and appreciate.
